Have decided I'm not dying (just...)

There seems to be some sort of lurgy going around just now. I'm not sure whether I caught it off my niece last weekend, or from a colleague at work, but for the last week I've been suffering with the mother and father of colds - NOT swine flu as I haven't been feverish in the slightest, but coughing, sneezing, bunged up and generally so miserable. Extremely frustrating, having had two days off work last week, I felt I had to go in yesterday, and I lasted until midday before my boss frog-marched me out of the office and sent me home again.

So I spent the weekend curled up on the sofa under a blanket and hot water bottle, indulging in an Extreme Makeover: Home Edition marathon on Home (I love Ty!) and stitching.

Here is the current project, a wall hanging from last month's World of Cross-Stitching magazine:

Here is how it looked on Saturday morning:
And here it is after two days of Ty!

It's an easy stitch, about all my brain can cope with at the moment. No backstitching, the white lines will be filled with dark grey. I think it's going to be a birthday present for a friend, who is currently in hospital. With a following wind, I should be able to get it finished by the end of the month, and then as the days are finally starting to lengthen, I may go back to Frederick the Literate, which I put aside over the winter as I couldn't cope with stitching on black.

  1. I hope you are feeling better soon. We had 2 different flu bugs, +allergies, swing through the household a few times. Everyone has gotten everything at least once now. Hey, at least we share with each other, lol!

Your WIP is very pretty. Look forward to seeing it finished as the wall hanging. I am sure your friend will cherish it.

  3. I feel your pain, Shirley. I'm just coming out of the same lurgy, and my husband is in the heart of it (you can hear it in his voice on the television announcements). At least you have some beautiful stitching to show for it. Rest well - lots of orange juice!

  8. Though I cannot say with a straight face or a clear conscience that I am happy that you were "frog-marched" out of your office; I have to admit to being thrilled that you got a little me time. I hope that you feel better soon. The stitching looks wonderful!
